Looking back, Mike Tucker would say that he grew up in a rules-oriented church --- an experience that nearly destroyed him. Fortunately at the right time, he was introduced to the gospel from the perspective of the cross. It was then that his life began to change. Today, Mike's understanding of God's grace affects his preaching, his ministry style and his relationships.
He and his wife Gayle are partners in ministry at the Arlington, Texas, Adventist Church. Together they serve the church and community with felt-need seminars and other programs that encourage lasting relationships. Their goal is to reach members of a growing secular society with a faith that meets their needs. During their 13 years of ministry at Arlington, church membership has grown from less than 1,000 to nearly 1,800.
Pastor Tucker is also Speaker/Director for Faith For Today Television Ministries. He holds a Master's Degree in counseling and has authored several books, including Journal of a Lonely God; Jesus, He's All You'll Ever Need; Heart Food; Jesus, Your Heart's Desire; Every Good Thing and Ten Keys to a Happy Marriage. This series on Ruth is an example of the grace-filled sermons one would hear at the Arlington church.
