Was Darwin Wrong?
“Out of Thin Air” to Explore the Creation/Evolution Debate
In November 2004, National Geographic asked the question “Was Darwin Wrong?” Their answer? “Absolutely not!”
Was National Geographic wrong? That’s one of the questions Pastor Shawn Boonstra, speaker/director for It Is Written Television, will explore during a special four-night series called Out of Thin Air, which will take place Sept. 28 – Oct. 1 at a church near you.
The creation/evolution debate has been raging for decades, and a number of fundamental issues lie at its core—some of the biggest questions in the universe:
Does God exist?
Where do human beings come from?
What story does the fossil record tell?
What is the meaning of life?
During these four nights, Pastor Boonstra will use the Bible and scientific studies to explore these important questions and their meaning for our everyday life.
“We’re going to take a unique approach during this series—rather than simply defending creation, we will tackle Darwin’s claims head-on,” said Boonstra. “Life does have meaning and purpose, and during these meetings, we will explain why.”
Out of Thin Air will involve both satellite and local elements. Each one-hour program will include a presentation by Boonstra via satellite, and a short Bible study with a local pastor, who will review the evening’s message and answer any questions.
